The Brooklyn Browns and the Phoenix Thunderbirds played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Browns won it, 9-6, in 11 innings. In the game, Brooklyn right fielder Sem Vreke went 5-6 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Brooklyn reliever Kyle Burch was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Danny Reyes took the loss for Phoenix. With the win, Brooklyn elevates its record to 3-5.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Vreke hit a fastball from Danny Reyes for a 3-run home run. The Browns, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Vreke said.
