Destroyers Suffer 9-1 Loss to Denver
|
The Denver Glaciers thumped the San Diego Destroyers, 9-1, at Mountain Dew Park. Ramon Chirino was a big reason his team got the win. Chirino was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Their 43-36 record puts the Glaciers second in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division.
With Denver trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Chirino hit a fastball from Tony Anaya for a bases-clearing double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Glaciers ahead, 3-1.
"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Chirino after the game.
