Wedel Homers Twice in 9-7 Juggernauts Win
|
Toronto first baseman Jason Wedel played a vital role in his team's 9-7 conquest of Buffalo. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for Toronto. Antonio Avellaneda picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 6-5. The save was credited to Ignacio Noriega, his 14th.
With the game tied, 1-1, in the top of the sixth, Wedel had a key at-bat for Toronto. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Wedel hit a run-scoring single off Allan Tinter, making the score 2-1, Juggernauts.
"Glad to go home with a win," said Wedel.
