Vikings Send Phoenix Home with 4-3 Loss
Minneapolis Vikings starter Hendi Cooper pitched a strong game against the Phoenix Thunderbirds at Minneapolis Grounds, leading the Vikings to victory, 4-3. Earning the save was Kwang-sik Nho. He's now cashed in 5 of 8 save opportunities. The first-place Vikings improved to 49-31.

Had Omar Ozoa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ozoa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Vikings.

"It was a real good effort by Hendi," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan. "I loved the way he bore down."
