Despite a fine performance by center fielder Bobby Aguinaga, the Minneapolis Vikings lost to the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 10-7, in 11 innings. Aguinaga went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Cesar Lobatos notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 3-1. The Thunderbirds raised their record to 33-45.

Nobuo Honda went 2-5 with 2 singles and a walk for Phoenix. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jaime Luther. It was his 12th walk of the season.
