Kodiaks Knock Off Seattle, 3-2
|
In a tight tilt between Alaska and Seattle, pitcher Mike Blain was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-2 Kodiaks win. Blain picked up the win for Alaska, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The 'W' lifts Alaska's record to 44-34.
Alaska used a clutch at-bat from Felix Perez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Kodiaks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
