Tucson Sent Home with 4-2 Loss
|
Kansas City parlayed a decent outing from starter Matt McMillan into a solid win over the Tucson Toros. The final score was 4-2. Keishi Okamoto earned the save for Kansas City, his 2nd of the year. With the loss, Tucson is 3-5.
Marcos Sardinas dealt the Toros a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Kansas City leading 2-1, Sardinas hit a first pitch slider for a run-scoring single.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kansas City manager Joe Monagle.
