Aces Jolt Wolves, 5-4, with Late Rally
The Las Vegas Aces took Vancouver pitcher Wade Belk's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Western Coliseum. The final score had Las Vegas getting past the Wolves, 5-4. Belk went 5 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 7. Las Vegas reliever Nestor Cantu picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Yasniel Ramirez absorbed the loss. J.P. McNealy was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 14 save opportunities.

The Aces beat the Wolves in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Manichiro Kawasaki produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Yasniel Ramirez, Kawasaki gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he hit a run-scoring single.

"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Kawasaki said. "And the same is true when you lose."

Vancouver is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
