The 11-5 Montreal win over Miami was due in large part to Vern Berg. The Harfangs first baseman went 3-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The setback makes Miami 32-44.

Had Ray Garcia not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Garcia hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Harfangs.
