Friars Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Aquas, 6-4
|
The timely hitting of Takanobu Tabata helped the San Francisco Friars down the Houston Aquas, 6-4. Tabata was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Friars. The winner was Jose Alonzo in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Antonio Equihua took the loss. San Francisco bumps their record to 38-39 with the win.
San Francisco took a 6-4 lead on Jorge Bribiesca's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Bribiesca hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Jeff LeCheminant visibly frustrated.
"Solid performance from our side," said Friars manager Erich Weatherholt.
