Baltimore Downed, 4-2, by Vikings
|
The Baltimore Kings got a superb performance from pitcher Lanzo Huitron, but the Minneapolis Vikings still won the game, 4-2. Huitron threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Minneapolis pitcher Angelo Zelada got the win. He's now 4-0. Marc Diamond was tagged with the loss. The first-place Vikings have a record of 47-29.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bible Mahoney? The 26-year old center fielder Mahoney stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Minneapolis up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
Said losing manager Brad Carpenter: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
