Dragons Top Glaciers to Even Record
|
Getting offensive support from Eddie Duarte, the Portland Dragons topped the Denver Glaciers, 4-1. Duarte was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Dragons. Toby Cheadle claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Alberto Rosario notched his 1st save of the season.
With Portland trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Duarte hit a fastball from Luis Muratalla for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 3-1.
"I thought we competed really well," said Dragons manager Greg Carpenter. "I thought the energy was really good."
The third-place Dragons are now 38-38, the Glaciers 40-36.
