Toros Score Late to Upend Stars, 6-4
|
Toros left fielder Zahi Cobo put his stamp on his team's 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Stars. Cobo went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for Tucson in the contest. Reliever Kurt Bozek picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Raiko Leon took the loss. Cody Sosnowski recorded the save, making him 16 for 20.
Jesus Munoz hit a run-scoring double off Touta Kubo in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Toros in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Munoz had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Good, blue-collar kind of win," said Toros manager Rick Barnes.
The Toros raised their record to 38-37.
