Philadelphia Defeats Toronto, 8-6
|
Philadelphia shortstop Fernando Malleta was a significant contributor in his team's 8-6 triumph over the Toronto Juggernauts. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Spectres. Alberto Zamora notched his 10th save of the season. Philadelphia occupies second place in the Eastern Conference Jossue Lopez Division at 40-34.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Eddie Kelly to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Spectres on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Fernando was ready to go. Big day for him," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
