Destroyers Get Past Denver, 5-4
The San Diego Destroyers had to overcome a big game from Denver third baseman Alexjandria Leija to leave Seaward Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Leija was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. San Diego reliever Chris Whiffen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Shane Shackelford was saddled with the loss. The Destroyers move to 28-46 with the win, while the Glaciers drop to 40-34.

Carlos Tenorio helped out the San Diego cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the catcher went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

Tenorio attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
