Spectres Win, 6-2, Over Montreal
|
The Philadelphia Spectres got a strong performance from pitcher Uno Urquidez, who stymied the Montreal offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Mount Royal Park. Urquidez picked up the win for Philadelphia, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-5. Alberto Zamora was credited with the save for Philadelphia, his 9th of the season.
Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Fernando Malleta to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Spectres ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Uno was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
Philadelphia is now 39-33, Montreal 21-52.
