San Francisco Friars starter Kelvin Vaquera kept the Chicago Phantoms hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. The Friars raised their record to 37-37.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Robersy Larosa was at the plate when San Francisco scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Friars to go in front, 3-2.

"It all comes down to competing and our guys love to compete," said Friars manager Erich Weatherholt.
