Glaciers Win 4-3 Nail-Biter Versus Ravens
|
The Denver Glaciers overcame a pretty good performance by Yellowknife designated hitter Felix Perez, beating the Ravens, 4-3, in 10 innings. Perez was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times. Cheng-en Cong was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was J.D. Haynes. Denver has won 4 straight games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Denver right fielder Brandon Nofziger, facing Vito Pels, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Glaciers the 4-3 win.
"They tested our mettle," said Nofziger. "But that's good. It toughens us up."
