Montreal starter Huggy Bruce put the Philadelphia offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his fastball in leading the Harfangs to a 6-1 win. Bruce, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The triumph makes Montreal 21-51.

Jose Diaz had a big solo home run for the Harfangs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from Tony Madena, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2079 draft, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Harfangs on top, 2-0.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
