Echartea Helps Greens Defeat Browns, 14-6
|
Boston took on Brooklyn in front of a lively crowd.
Boston catcher Willie Echartea had a 5-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Brooklyn Browns, 14-6. Juan Colleano was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Vince Tozier.
In the bottom of the sixth, Boston shortstop Ray Farr had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Farr stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 7-5, Boston. For the game, he was 2 for 5 with a double.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Echartea told the Boston Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
With the win, Boston elevates its record to 3-4.
