Victory Takes Aquas to 41-31
|
Houston Aquas pitcher Ricky Zika was in fine form, leading his team past the Las Vegas Aces, 3-1. Danny Mathews nailed down his 11th save. The second-place Aquas now sit at 41-31.
The Aquas got a big at-bat from third baseman Craig Lightsey. For the game, Lightsey went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Houston a 2-1 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lightsey told reporters after the game.
