Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Maddox Lannigan, the New York Titans defeated the Cincinnati Twins, 4-1. Lannigan was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Titans. Keiyo Nagao picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-3. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. The second-place Titans have a record of 40-30.
Lannigan had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-0 fastball from Ruben Escobar, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Titans a 3-0 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Lannigan.
"I like our moxie," said Titans manager Nate Beckman.
