The Tucson Toros defeated the San Francisco Friars, 8-3, in Western Conference action at Aetna Stadium. Tucson pitcher Tony Masso had a standout performance. The winner was Masso. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Bill Zamora. Dong-u Jee nailed down his 1st save.
In the bottom of the fourth, Tucson second baseman Isaac Butzer had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Butzer stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 5-3, Tucson. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I do my best to contribute," said Butzer.
Tucson now owns a record of 35-35.
