Twins Rocked By Titans, 11-1
Riding the 4-hit performance of the 30-year old catcher Taiji Taira, the New York Titans defeated the Cincinnati Twins, 11-1. Rafael Escobar earned the win to go to 1-5. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Cincinnati has now lost 5 straight.

With New York leading 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Taira hit a 2-run single off Cincinnati hurler Ken Wellon. It was the 51st hit of the season for Taira and put his team ahead, 4-0.

"Taiji leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said New York manager Nate Beckman.
