Destroyers Win, 8-5, at Houston
|
The San Diego Destroyers withstood an impressive performance by Houston designated hitter Travis Glazebrook to defeat the Aquas, 8-5, at Tesoro Stadium. Glazebrook went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs. The defeat makes Houston 21-48.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Lupe Corona? The San Diego shortstop had a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Destroyers on top, 5-1. For the game, Corona had 2 doubles and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Corona told a San Diego Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
