Brooklyn got a first-rate effort from pitcher Alberto Vasquez, who frustrated Santiago hitters en route to a 2-0 Browns triumph at Brown Town. The first-place Avispas dropped to 49-18.

Vasquez ran roughshod over the Santiago lineup. The left-hander allowed just 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. With the victory, he goes to 7-5 on the season.

"Alberto's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier.
