In a tight tilt between the Havana Metropolitanos and the Buffalo Rangers, Bobby Alkire was the deciding factor. The Havana left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. In 5 innings, Alkire surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The 4th-place Metropolitanos lifted their record to 31-38.
The Metropolitanos got a big at-bat from first baseman Alex Zendejas. For the game, Zendejas was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Havana a 2-0 lead.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Zendejas told the Havana News.
