Evelio Vinent put on a hitting clinic in helping Philadelphia beat Havana, 9-3. Vinent had 1 single and 2 doubles for the Spectres. He also scored 1 run and knocked in 3. Philadelphia goes to 33-36, Havana to 42-26.
Juan Martinez had a big bases-clearing double for the Spectres in the top of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia leading 5-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher J.D. Haynes and swatted a double to center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spectres ahead, 8-3.
"Evelio raked," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
