Vikings Use Late Surge to Win

Vismay Falcon, who finished 2nd in the WC in ERA with 2.39 last year, had a strong outing for the Minneapolis Vikings against the Tucson Toros at Minneapolis Grounds. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The Vikings, at 41-26, sit in first place in the Western Conference Mike Stump Division.
Had Omar Ozoa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Ozoa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Vikings.
Said losing manager Rick Barnes: "'I liked the effort, just not the results."
