Athletics Deal Vikings 9-2 Defeat
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Minneapolis Vikings were eager to watch Vismay Falcon square off against Gerald Tanton of the visiting Kansas City Athletics. In the end, the Athletics won the game, 9-2, with Gerald Tanton leading the way.
Kansas City first baseman Chris Horn contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Athletics ahead, 3-1.
"We came out aggressive," said Athletics manager Joe Monagle. "We came out swinging the bats."
