 | Rochester Bats Silenced by Varone Saturday, August 14th, 2027: Before the game Riccardo Varone liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Admirals pitcher whitewashed the Rochester Valley Cats 4-0. Varone said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count." The Colorado Springs starter held Rochester scoreless, giving up 6 hits while registering 3 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Valley Cats manager said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." This season Varone has 15 wins and 6 losses and a 1.62 ERA. |
