 | Big Day with Bat: Ramos 5-8 Thursday, May 27th, 2027: What a day for Oliverio Ramos of the Birmingham Gunners! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Saint Petersburg pitching apart at Ballpark of Saint Petersburg and sparked the Gunners to a 23-2 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 8. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Ramos told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Oliverio Ramos singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, flied out in the 9th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. Thus far this season Ramos is hitting .373 with 1 home run, 30 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has 72 hits in 193 at-bats and has played in 40 games. |
