 | Sapiens Tags Reds for 5 Hits Wednesday, June 2nd, 2032 On top of the Chicago hit parade today was Javier Sapiens. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Phantoms to a 10-9 victory over the San Francisco Reds. The sweet swinging center fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Reds wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Javier Sapiens hit a two-run home run off José Sierra in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Sapiens has compiled a .262 batting average and a .389 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 23 runs. |   |
